Kakenkyou, an organization established in the autumn of 1980 by Chairman Koichi Maruyama, had its headquarters located at his residence in Akita City. In January 1981, we published the journal “Genealogic Research” No.1, focusing on genealogy and family studies.
In July 1984, our Kansai Branch was established, and we successfully held four academic lecture a year.
In January 1998, we published the journal No.33. Unfortunately, due to Chairman Maruyama’s health issues, the headquarters had to be closed after the publication of the journal No.33.
However, in April 2002, the general meeting resolved to to transfer the headquarters function to Osaka and integrate it with the Kansai branch. And then, we restarted as a “new” Kakenkyou.
Currently, Kakenkyou boasts approximately 90 members nationwide.
